33 and 35 inch tires in metric sizes
The closest metric size on each wheel diameter, with its real height.
Short answer
On a 17 in wheel, a 33 in tire is about a 295/70R17 (33.3 in tall) and a 35 is about a 315/75R17 (35.6 in). The first number, the width in millimetres, does not tell you the height on its own: the height comes from the width, the aspect ratio and the wheel together.

How the conversion works
A metric size such as 285/70R17 gives the width in millimetres (285), the sidewall height as a percentage of that width (70 percent, so 199.5 mm), and the wheel diameter in inches (17). The overall height is the wheel plus two sidewalls: 17 in plus 2 × 199.5 mm, which is 32.7 in. A flotation size such as 35x12.50R17 states the height directly. Metric sizes rarely land on a whole inch, so the "33s" and "35s" on a forum are usually a few tenths either side.
Match the height first, then the width to your wheel and your fenders. A taller tire also changes the speedometer and the gearing; the comparison calculator shows both against your stock size.
